Ballot Issues

April 2, 2008

Dear Carpenter Community,

There is a school election on May 6th that includes two ballot items on the funding of Ann Arbor Public Schools. The result of the election will directly affect the future of our Ann Arbor schools. Carpenter Elementary PTO supports voting “yes” on the ballot questions to continue funding for our schools. We will hold open discussion of the ballot issues and provide additional information at the next PTO meeting on April 15, 2008 at 7:00 pm. We realize it is tax day – please try to file early and attend our PTO meeting. It’s important!

Please read the letter from Dr. Todd Roberts, Superintendent of Schools, and the fact sheets that provide all the details. Visit http://www.a2cmc.org/ and http://www.aaps.k12.mi.us/2008millages/home to learn more.

Key dates related to the election:

  • April 7, 5:00 PM – Final day to register to vote (you must be registered to vote)
  • April 16 – May 3 – Absentee ballots available (no absentee voting allowed for first time voters)
  • May 6 – Election Day – VOTE YES!!

Thank you for your support!
